J. Keck

Greetings from The Big House

Southerners like to weave a good tale. Whether it’s a single country story or loosely connected stories, at least one of the tellings has to be about the family before and after the “War.” As one Southern lady said to me, “Oh, most Southern families have stories about the “War.” And, she was right! But time passes. Along with old tales, relatively new stories of another era emerge and call out to have their day in the sun.
One of the many things that amazes and intrigues me about creativity is the mystery of the muse. In this case, I think and feel that The Big House and its characters wrote the book as much as I did. But, that is something to be explored one way or another in additional conversations.
One great pleasure for the storyteller is the response from listeners or readers. With that in mind, I wholeheartedly invite you to participate in a discussion about The Big House.
Talk to y’all later.

Jim Keck 2×3 Montecito

I thought this design for the “Montecito Journal” in California, announcing the store placements of the book, was particularly creative.
